Post subject:  inverter for el backlight

Hello!

I have some cheap LCD (character 24x2) I picked up, with supposedly a nice blue EL backlight

but I can't find the proper inverter circuit to drive the EL film with.

I tried the inverter for a CCFL, but I think the voltage or frequency may be too low.

can anyone share a schematic or a source for inexpensive premade el inverters ... I'm in the USA

thanks

I assume it is backlighted with an EL sheet and NOT CCFL.
Conrad in Europe sells these cheap 5 euro inverters for EL. I have used one for my 128x128 LCD.

You'll need to find a similar one in the USA.
