Post subject:  Help with my S-9894 LCD - HD61203-based

Hello everyone, have used a whole day trying to make a LCD work, but i have some loose wires i can't find any placement for.... 8O

It's this LCD http://elm-chan.org/junk/s9894/report.html

I have connected as this drawing http://www.skippari.net/lcd/ks0108.html, but i doesn't work :x

I have connected an inverter on the CCFL so i have light on the lcd, and all controllers are working (all pixels goes white/blue when i toggle the power briefly) - LCD bias is via a potentiometer connected to a -12 volt supply.

My computer is working - have just been using a Noritake GU256x64-372 and some other VFDs, no problems here !

Can someone point me in the right direction - where should i connect what?

Compared to that Displaytech schematic here are the differences I was able to spot:

/CS-L, /CS-R = CS1, CS2 (not sure which is which but you can find out by testing)
D/I = RS (selects data or instruction register)

Then there's the additional CS pin. I think it's a chip select for the whole display so you should be able to just wire it to VCC. Wiring to GND probably makes the controllers not respond.

I'm not sure what the VEE and VOL are. Do you know if there should be negative voltage generator in the display ? If so one of them could be the negative voltage output and another would be the contrast input. You could try measuring if either the VEE or VOL output some kind negative voltage when you apply +5v to the display.

Did you try adjusting the contrast using the potentiometer ?

Anything else that I missed ?

Post subject:  WEEEE It works :-) - Thanks to Henri !

Hello folks, got it working now  , had messed up the Wiring being unsure about the third CS-pin.... wired it exactly lige Henri said, and it worked in first try :-)

I have shot a video of this beatiful display, so you all can see :-)

THANKS ! :D

P.s. - destroyed a Optrex DMF5003 today trying to exchange the metal-framing (it was dented) with a better one, the rubber-contacts fell off, and it doesn't get good contact anymore, so i threw it in the can.... after all only paid 4 $ for three of them at a flea-market :-) - two to go.....

I'll check the video after I can get back here with something faster than this GPRS.

PS. Don't throw those displays in the can. Instead you could give it to me for example ;) I think there should be a T6963C controller on the PCB that could be used for something else.
