I have looked around alot on this site for information on hooking up a Nokia 3310 LCD. I found a couple of configurations: * Zener diodes and resistors * Direct wirering * Using 7445 with 3.3 v circuit. My tests have been done on a laptop. Measuring the voltage on my LPT port, Pin7 to Pin25, it sais 5V Connection the Zener diodes I measure 1.8 volts Direct wirering gives 3.4v on pin 7 and 4.7v on data pins I have not tested 7445 with 3.3 circuit. I still have not got any test-picture on either of the couplings. Any suggestions on what could be wrong? For example, should I use the direct wirering for the power supply but zeners for data pins? /Best regards Michael |

This would be great as it would help me set up my 3210 which should be very similar! is direct wiring or with diodes better? |

I wrote something for u some time ago but it's in ...Greek. It's here http://www.hlektronika.gr/phpBB2/kat_lcd3.php The guide uses the zener circuit. You should understand the basics because of the many pictures, or use a translation page to translate from Greek to English. If anything else fails, ask me! |

i used the same components on the board it works fine now i`m changing some of the screenfile`s to fit a 3310 display. i have an analog clock, a digital clock, Camel and a bug (1 made them work on a 84X48 |

Will it burn the 3310 LCD if i directly connect control lines to TTL level interface? I looked in datasheet, it says that absolute maximum rating for control lines is Vdd + 0.3V = 3.3-3.6V. Will LCD tolerate 5V? |

mine are hooked directly here no burnt lcd BUT this is with a nokia 5110 LCD im not sure if they are different |
