I have couple usb to lpt adapters. But lptlcd softwares needs adress like 378 use them.

Usb adapter doesnt have that. Is there software that uses windows ports(like lpt3 or usb printing support) to put text on displays like 44780

I'm also interested in this... I was wondering if it were possible if the LPT address was configurable in the driver? Is it as simple as being able to configure the addess? Or are there are issues that would need to be looked into?

If anyone with programming skills wants to modify one of the drivers, I would be happy to test this... Although I would need to purchase a USB to LPT converter first.

Most usb to lpt adapters I have seen are meant for printers primarily and only provide a port that can be used for printing in windows. I'm sure the hardware of many of these devices would allow using with lcd's too but it would probably mean rewriting the windows usb driver for it.

But if you can find an adapter that provides the parallel port address then it might work with LCDInfo as most LCDInfo drivers give user the option of typing in any address.
