Hi Guys,

Im new to display world currently i planing to use F-51851GNFJ-SLW-AEN display from optrex. Im planing to interface the display using SPI. Could any one advice me :

1. Hw to select a right microcon which can interface this display?
2. Hw bou the clocking for SPI clock is thr any issues need to be adressed?
3. Whn working with spi interface do anyone has any lesson learn or things tht need to look into?

As it's a 240x64 pixel mono display there shouldn't be any special requirements. Pretty much any microcontroller should be able to drive that.

Just select a microcontroller that has SPI built in so you don't need to emulate that in software which is much slower. There shouldn't be any special requirements for the microcontroller because of the display. Of course you might want to have a microcontroller that has enough flash if you plan to save some images to show on the display. But other than that more important in the microcontroller selection is the rest of your project.

For the clocking just follow the maximum speed in the display datasheet and you should be fine. Also you might want to verify the SPI clock polarity and phase so that your microcontroller's SPI settings match the display timing diagrams.

thanks henri. For spi config i have identified cs,ao,scl and d7 pins to interface with micro controller. Whereas for parallell im quite confused either whn it comes to lcd ac pin. Im nt sure if this pin needs to be connected to microcontroller. If u don mind can u share the function of this pin, for F-51851GNFJ-SLW-AEN display.
