Hello everyone!

I have a small doubt regarding the communication protocol of this controller.
I intend to develop my own lcd controller using an AT90S2313. Nothing fancy, just basic stuff for starters. I have developed my HD44780 routines some time ago and now it's time for a graphical lcd and serial (sigh) communication.

On page 12 of the datasheet, the timing diagrams seem to indicate that as long as D/|C=1 and |SCE=0, display data can be sent serially and continuouslly, like a 4032bit string without further control pulses.

Is this correct? It would ease very much the sending of the data thru the UART, with only the command set sent separately.

I'm using RVK-Basic, btw.

Another thing I tought about to avoid me using a serial protocol was using a CD4021 PISO to output 8 data bits and then clock it up serially...

Thank you
