Post subject:  Problems with Powertip PG-12864F & T6963C

Hi

I cant seem to make this module display anything except the usual black line on reset. Its connected to an ATMega128 and i've monitored all the lines and they are merrily attempting to initialise the LCD display correctly...still, nothing displayed.

The blink line of the T6963C is responding when the device is told to blink the cursor, but the cursor isnt displayed on the screen. Can anyone tell me how to connect the Vo line of this unit properly? I assumed it worked off a +5v supply through a 10k pot but I think im wrong with that.

Any pointers please? Im almost 99% sure that my software isnt the problem.

Thanks
Chris.

hi
i think u should check with initialization part of the lcd, 'coz u say the blink line is responding whereas the blinking cursor(i presume a square block) isnt getting displayed. Check the type of curser u have selected to display there will options related to curser i.e u can set it as block, underscore, invisible. i insist u to check the init code once again. Even a bit setting has lot of significance.
