I have a HD44780 display connected to my parallel port, and wired as per the Beyond Logic website. I am attempting to use VB6 to program the port, for the time being just getting it to display a couple of lines of test text would be nice. I have tried various utilities and websites for code, such as vblcd, lcdstudio, and others, but am plagued by broken links and ending up finding C+ code all over. I have tried to patch my own code together using borrowed bits from all over but i have so far only found one piece of software, by S.Levent, which actually works. But guess what, its in C+...., none of the other programs or code i have tried will even initialise the display, apart from one which i cant remeber the name of, that simply displayed gibberish.. Anyway, i guess that being as the one utility works, my wiring is ok, I'm getting the test blocks on power up, anybody have any suggestions? |
