hi all
i am using a ft2232c high speed usb converter (through the module DLP2232M) its a readymade package. i downloaded the CDM(Combined driver model) driver from FTDIs website. The installation help file(pdf) is avalable at http://www.ftdichip.com/Documents/Insta ... _Guide.pdf. well the installation goes fine for port A. but the driver gets automatically installed for port b of the chip (actually the chip caters to 2 ports simulataneously!) So the problem is the Device Manager of the windows identifies as some device is connected. but windows does not explicitly mention which com port is being used i.e. COM2 or COM3....... Well the manual shows a diagram which shows a COM port allotted to the device. that is not happening my case.(I USE WINDOWS XP SP-2) WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM? PLEASE HELP ME its extremely urgent for me to finsh this work in a couple of days.

Do you have other serial devices installed on your computer? This may be causing some conflicts with the FTDI driver over the WINXP Com drivers. You could also try disabling your com1/com2 in your Bios settings, then reinstall the FTDI drivers. I seem to recall a similar problem quite a few years back, but it's been a while.
