What do you mean with initializing in compile environment ? Using InitializeWinIo(); function ?

And what do mean with executing the program ?

Sorry if it isn't allowed to bring old topics back..

Like zqu said, you can't execute the examples in Developement Enviorment. InitializeWinIO returns false, but when I execute the compiled Exe, It all works as it has to work.

I'm also using Visual Basic 6 (SP6) on a Windows XP Prof SP1a (Dutch). I don't really know how you guys installed WinIO, wich version etc. It doesn't contain any installer or some clear instructions..

No problem bringing old topics back. Better use the old topic than make another about the same thing. I think the problem in this forum is more that too many people just make new topic without looking at the old ones before.

Now I understand what zqu meant.

A while ago I made my first test using VB6 and port driver and I noticed the same thing you are describing here. Somehow the port driver is only loaded when running the exe and not in the development environment. But as it was only a little test I was working on I didn't let that bother me. So I'm not of much help here but at least you know you're not alone.

Also I think you have WinIO installed just fine as it's already working like it is. There isn't really any installer needed as you just use the .dll and .vxd files included in the package.
