Post subject:  1 LCD to the Next

I am doing a project where I am writing from a microporcessor to an LCD. The microprocessor came with a library of functions for this lCD, however the LCD is really small. But I do have a big one, the Hitachi LMG6401PLGE. However, all I can find is a spec sheet, I have no idea how to program to this thing. I want to edit the libraries, this way I can just swap the LCD's and all the print functions can remain the same.

Anyone know where I can find how to program to this? Also, do you think this is something that can be done. Right now I am using the Rabbit Semiconductors RCM3200 with their LCD.

It's possible to make similar library for the HD61830. How much work this is depends of what kind library your old one is and how much functionality it has.
In fact there is one library here that you might find useful: http://www.skippari.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=451
