Hi,

I'm trying to use an pic18f452 to control this 6610 display with a pcf8833 and so far I can't get the display to do anything.

So my question is: Is there anyone out there wo had any successes in interfacing a pic18 or pic16 to this display. Any code examples would be very usefull.

Also I don't have quick access to those chips that u can use to get interface voltage from 5v to 3.3v So i used simple resitor voltage dividers. I have seen it done before but I'm not sure about how good this solution realy is. Maybe I should use zenerdiodes.

As I side note: I also got my display from magboss. They ask half the price the ask here in the netherlands and you can specifically ask for the philips based ones. I used wired money transfer as the payment options and it wat delivered within five days

Thank you for the suggestion lcdmania but I already found that link and altough is is in C (lattest version only in asm). I'm to unfamiliar with the avr to understand from it what I'm doing wrong. It is even possible that my hardware setup is at fault somewhere so I realy need a known working example.

I'm making progres!

I removed my resistor dividers and changed them to a diode resistor combination that seems to work. Next on my list are bus tranceivers. Als I lowered the voltage of the display to 2.7v. This gave better colors. The problem I have left are thes dancing black lines accros the screen, like looking at a bad broadcast. They don't change the ram data though so it looks like I'm getting some interference from a power supply or so er maybe the air. There is a lot of blank coper wire in my testbed. But if anybody got some other experience that he got ride of a similar effect don't hessitate to share!

Probably you would need to write this utility yourself. Haven't seen these around.

A lot here is talkong about the 6610 , not the 6100.

Yes I think the "LCD Display Nokia 3100/6100 - Philips (original)" is the same display with Philips controller as discussed in this topic.

He probably wrote his own and it I suppose it was just some test stuff not ready for public eyes. I don't know.

It's not that difficult to write that kind conversion yourself. And it's good practice in understanding how the colors work in these displays.
