Post subject:  nokia 7210 lcd

hi, im looking at using one of these lcds in a pc case mod, as a "case badge". i would, for now, like to display either a chosen picture, or an animated gif. is there any new info apart from the stuff i the nokia color lcds thread? with the given schematic, what pins do i wire to the usb tx and rx?what coding do you use to achieve this? any help would be appreciated.

I suppose no further development has been going on, at least not for me.

The connection used has been this: http://www.schijf.org/colourlcd/usb_colour_lcd.gif

So there has been the FTDI FT245BM IC between usb and the display. Then to wiggle the lcd lines the FTDI bit bang features have been used.

For connecting the FT245BM chip to usb have a look into the datasheet: http://www.ftdichip.com/Documents/ds232bv16.pdf
Then there are FT232BM Application Schematics:
