I got myself one of these isolated dc-dc chips.

Part Number: nmh0515s
Datasheet: http://www.ee.nmt.edu/~wedeward/EE443L/FA00/nmh.pdf

Does it look like it will do? I put a pot on the 5v input and i was able to adjust to a wide range of voltages when connected to my mutimeter. Hope it works when i get my display!

If you can get the voltage the LCD needs I don't see why it wouldn't work.

A little tip: if you have some old network cards you may find modules like this from them. I think one I checked had -9v and -15v outputs.
