Hi,

i'd managed to conect the Nokia 3310 LCD to the parallel port by using the information out of the PCD8544 Thread.
I'm a little bit confused, because my parallel port gives me only 3.3V not 5V. Because of this i wired the LCD directly to the port without any electronic devices except the capacitor (2.2uF) between GND and Vout.
And the LCD shows... ehm... something.
After a while it shows this:

it takes some time and the you can see this:

(in the second line the text "* Totals_thing" is scrolling)
finally it comes up with this:

To test the LCD i made a new background bitmap and filled it with a chess pattern. The result:


Well, i'm missing some column on the right and a block on the upper left corner. And the line on the upper right part is very strange.
What's wrong? I thing the driver is ok. Henri sent it to me. The wiring must be ok, otherwise i wouldn't see anything. Is the LCD damaged?
It would be nice to hear your opinion.

Argh, I just tested this myself and I was able to reproduce these missing image parts with build 15 of LCDInfo. This driver was developed with the coming build 16 and it seems there have been some changes.

Well as I told everyone this is not very mature driver yet and it wasn't really developed for build 15. But it still let's you see the thing working although some parts of the image are missing. I wasn't able to reproduce the line in upper right part but it might be caused by these same incompatibility problems.

Other than these "slight" problems seems your display is working fine.

Oh and if you're wondering about those first screens it's because LCDInfo currently discards the image if it goes out of screen area and the default images are 128x64.

Good to hear this. I was worring about that i'd damaged the LCD.

No, it's a normal Asus ATX Board

But i could managed to fill the lcd completly with characters. So it seems, that only loading of a bitmap is the problem.
The line in the upper right part came from a wrong winamp-screen and was just a "/". The divider between played time and total time.

The driver included with build16 should fix these problems.

Can i download , a program that show , how much volt o got in my lpt(parallel) port ?

No, it's not possible to measure analog voltages in parallel port by software. For that you'd need some extra hardware.

Put an 7805 voltage regulator on the power line, that will give you your steady 5v line.

They are very common in loads of different devices.
