I'm using the TDLPortIO wrapper component to access parallel port in C++ Builder 5. The component can be downloaded somewhere at my site.
Some time ago I tried my LCDInfo project with the Builder 6 Trial version and there were some problems with TDLPortIO but I didn't look at that much.

With visual c++ 6 I've been using the DLPORTIO.lib / .h that are distributed in the DLPortIO package but I haven't used them with any C++ Builder version yet.

I have the same problem the topicstarter has... I've been using borland c++ builder 6 and i tried installing the wrapper component but it seems that it was written for c++ builder 4.0... When builder 6 tries to convert the file and install the package it gives me a --" is not a valid identifier error--

I'm a bit at a loss here...

Don't know if it matters what Builder version you have, but I've been using DLPortIO and C++ Builder 3 for years and can tell you it's very easy to do. But... Builder can do very weird things...

It's not much, but this is a little guide made years ago: Using DLPortIO in C++ Builder

There is no need to generate a new .lib if I remember correctly. But offcourse you can always try with implib (in builder/bin/implib.exe)

If that won't help, there are more things to try ;)

Hmmmz, don't know why it's not working atm... fixed the link with an IP adres, so it should work for now.

I'm in the middle of a domain transfer, and files are scattered across 3 servers, nameservers are partly updated across the world, and so on. So you might say some weird sh*t is going on with my links now and then... It's being worked on though ;)
