You're right! Sorry, i didn't rename the file.

Now i have 5 times 32lines of my screen config on the upper half of the display and the lower half stays empty. I don't understand that...

Is there any (special) command that is sended after 64 (32) lines? I can't believe that this is a hardware problem, or may that be?

Is there any copyright on the driver and could you send me the code as a textfile? I don't have any sdk, but perhaps it would help me understanding the communication and/or solve the problem. I don't want to steal much of your time...

I have an idea:
I now read the S1D13305 datasheet again and found the initialization procedure on page 67. Under No. 4, command P3 and P6 ("Display lines in ... screen block=64") the value is 40H. Could you please change it to A0H for 160 lines instead of 64?
Perhaps you can make two files: one with A0H for 160 lines and one with 140H for 320 lines, so i can try both of them.

No, there shouldn't be any special command sent after 64 lines.

Could be that your displays configuration should be taken into account in the driver and initialisation in other ways that I'm not aware of. Maybe it's also possible that the way you have the display parts connected is not 100% correct, I don't know.

That value in the driver is calculated from the height value given in the configuration. So with 320x240 size it becomes as 239.

And the command P6 under No. 3 on page 67? Is that the amount of lines that can be set (manually) in the driver?

It's not impossible that i wired something wrong, but why the screen is rebuilded then after 64 (W/S=0) or 32 (W/S=1) lines? That don't make sense to me... I suggest the display doesn't work at all with wrong wiring...

What about table 7 on page 26 and the L/F command. What does this do?

Yes that is also set based on the setting from the config dialog. It's the height -1.

Could be that some changes are required in the driver to make it work with your display. I should have a better look at all the information you have provided about your configuration and compare it with the datasheet.

Hmm, I see the W/S flag is also mentioned here. I should do some reading to have a better understanding of the dual panel configuration with S1D13305 before I know enough.

I think you have a lot of other things to do, too, but i would be very grateful, if you perhaps could find some time to look at and try understanding this display.

I'm going to wire it again tommorrow or on Wednesday, so that we can exclude a wrong wiring.

I now wired the display again and the problem stays the same. This time i wired the upper and the lower half of the display parallel, that means on every half should be displayed the same data. And that happens. In this case the wiring is correct, isn't it?

I had no time to make pics, but i'll do that on sunday or monday.

Henri, did you already read in the datasheet about dual scan interfacing?

Meanwhile i got another one of that display, but that one is with a controller-board. The controller there is a SED1351F. Does someone have a datasheet for that ic? I was not able to find one...

But i think it should work with the S1D13305 also. Perhaps it won't be that fast, but that doesn't matter to me...

I now got the LCD running. I wired it as a 640x160, and connected it to a SED1335-controller-card. I changed the cfl-backlight into a multicolour-led-backlight controlled by pwm so i can realize almost every colour...

If you are interested, i upped some pictures here:

@coorz: I have stolen your idea for the display layout, but it was only a first try and will be changed soon...

@Henri: Thanks for your help and for LCDInfo!

Super job Myscha! No problem, you can use any of my designs if you want, but yours doesn't look anything like mine's :wink:
Got any more details about your PWM RGB backlight modification? Very nice...

Looks like you got a Monster multicoloured Display there , :D i love it .
I haven't played with Hype , but i take it you are able to rotate the screen and output 90' yes ?
Henry why can't we do that :P put it on the list :D

@coorz
Thanks!
The layout of the screen is similar to yours... ;)
I made photos of my "light bar" and i'll scan my schematic the next days and post it here. I hope you can wait some more hours... ;)

@mingingbollock
I don't know whether this is possible with LCDHype. I don't (can't) use it. It doesn't support screens bigger than 320x240. My screens are made with LCDInfo!

Having read the German thread i say that's an interesting workaround.
So you setup LCDinfo with custom SED1335 resolution at 640x160 and were able to make proper screens for that 320x320?
I really like your backlight, very unique 8O
BTW is it single color only or can it do a RGB fade :P

@mingingbollock
It's a 320x320 display, rewired to a 640x160 because the SED1335 supports only up to 256 lines.

@coorz
I control it like a 640x160, yes. But if i want to make a background over the whole screen, i paint it for 320x320 and then i cut and rebuild it as 640x160. It's a bit complicated, but it's ok. But i'm not able to show for example a clock in fullscreen, like you do on one of your pics.

I thought the cfl-backlights are boring and so i had to make something special...
You can do a RGB fade. You can control every colour over a poti and regulate every brightness from 0% to 100%.
I'll upload the schematic and pics in the LCDHype-forum in the evening.

That's why that clock in the upper right corner looks so 'un-LCDinfo' :) At first i also thought it was LCDHype :D
