I've got the chance to get my hands on some cheap displays from Optrex, but my question is how do I connect them to my pc?

Hope you can live with that I'm new in here, I don't know much about it...
Anyway, the display is an Optrex DMF-50840 I don't know whether the LCDs has an inbuild controller or not, if not which controller will i need then?

here's some pics:

Just a quick Googling tells me that the DMF-50840 does not have a built in controller.

Indeed no controllers. But i know Henri has some SED1335 controllers specifically made for this Optrex 50840, contact him if you're interested.

Would be nice if I could use it as touch screen, but I can live without it.. the most important is just to get the LCD working.

I've sent a PM to Henri, still waiting for an answer

Wauw looks very cool... btw. can I insert my own graphics, text layout, objects etc. with LCDinfo?

If I could get my hands on a controller for the touch screen emplacement, could I then use it switch tracks in winamp, WMP or something like that?

anyway.. think I'll build it into a HTPC I'm setting up :)

And Henri didn't got any of those controllers, but he will get them :D

Yes i know he will
And yes you can design your own screens with your own graphics and info as far as the plugins lets you. The touchscreen part will need to be independant of LCDinfo as there's no support for that (yet?).

Another question... is it possible to have more than one LCD connected to the same parralel port, or do i need a second PCI parralel controller board if I want the LCDs to show different things?

You'll need a second LPT port if you want to display different screens on each one.
