Would anyone shed some light on this Planar EL640.400-C3.

http://www.wisecybertech.com/support/el ... 400-c2.pdf

I have one that was part of a touchscreen/monitor/PLC from work. The touchscreen is destroyed and the PLC's battery is dead so it clears itself during every power outage. I'm trying to salvage just the screen.

Normally in a "reuse my <insert whatever> lcd" thread, the major drawback is the controller. Here I have a display with a spec sheet that says it is made to work with a videocard with a "VGA Feature Connector". I can get that on ebay for less than $10.

The PDF says that "for easy interfacing with VGA display controllers the video input connectors are VGA Feature Connector compatible. The display automatically determines the mode of operation."

I've looked up "VGA Feature Connector" and "VESA Feature Connector" pinouts on Google and they don't seem to match up to the pinout for this display. Are VESA and VGA feature connectors interchangeable? So far I've seen that they both have 26 pins. But I only have 16 pins on the monitor.
Is anyone with knowledge of feature connectors willing to look at this PDF and advise me?

I'm a noob. Please be patient.

I'm reading that the VGA Feature Connector has 8 pins for pixel data, but the planar only has one pin labeled Video Data.

Other than that, both have blanking, clock, vsync, hsync.

Quick look into the datasheet shows that the display has mode in which it can use 2 pins to receive data. But still far from 8 bits.
I'm not really familiar with the VGA feature connectors so without further research I'm not able to answer this.

I do posess a 640x400 Planar (EL7768MS) that takes VESA out of the box, however it looks like crap
Yours is different in that, as Henri said, it has 2-bit interface, and i don't know how to hook that to VESA.
