Im getting the MAX637ACPA version. Anywho Here a re a few pictures of my soldering jobs for the lcd and parallel female. Ill get it mounted in a enclosure once I find out how I need to setup this breadboard.

Here are the remaining wires that are not connected. According the the schematic 3-10-19 all goto 5v and wire 4 which is VEE goes to -8v - I dont think that is the right label on the drawing I found for this particular model though being that VEE is labeled as Power Supply to LCD ( - )

wonderful PSU wires, lol. I know not very organized but accurate and all hooked up. plus with a little electrical tape is kept all tidy. Of course the connectors ends are covered in shrink tubing to prevent from voltage jumping.

Thx 1~0 for the pic, only one question might be reading the drawing rong but the +5v line on the lcd itself runs where? or does it meet up with the 5v comming off of the psu? Anywho, I will go ahead and look over a couple of things and wait for my 2 parts to come in and then Ill get the rest assembled. Oh the EL backlight connection where does it hook up to?

Alright so the el back light wires follow this. cut the end off and attached 5v(red) to the same 5v connector as the others. and Ground (black) to grounding pins with pins 1 and 2? Hope I got that correct. duno, yay!

I don't know if your display already has the necessary inverter for the EL backlight or not....more than likely not. Just hook up 5v to it and see if it lights up (5v to red, ground to black). If it doesn't light, then you will also need to get an EL inverter, which you can get here for pretty cheap:
EL inverter

I dont t hink it does, but I will check to make sure. so as soon as I check that out and get the rest of the parts in Ill be ready to go. Just a few more days.

also going back to your schematic you sent me.

4 pin enters into psu circuit, -8 through -15v leaves psu circuit and connects to 5v from lcd and molex red. correct?

Your PC molex connector provides the +5VDC (red wire) to the MAX637 IC (pin 6) and the LCD Logic power, VDD (pin 3). Ground from your molex would go to MAX637 (pin 4) and LCD Ground (pins 1 and 2). MAX637 (pin 1, -Vout) goes to LCD VEE (pin 4) which is the negative voltage to drive the display itself. Like I said, I'll try and draw a complete connection schematic later when I get a chance to try and clear this all up for you.

Alright looking over the schematic you sent me and your last post 1~0 I understand what connects where. so no need for the pic now unless you just want to make sure i know what im doing. but unfortunately Ill have to wait a little while on getting that el inverter since it'll cost me 7 to buy and 7 to ship, the B@$+@rD$

No, not a hassel at all :D
It's best to ask all the questions you have now than to hook it up and fry it.

Here is how I picture the connections, from the picture you gave me. It should be accurate I think off the description I read. Im also looking online for an EL Inverter circuit diagram. no luck on it though, because I will eventually need ore than one. and dont want to pay 14 bucks to get one here after shipping. Hell thats more than I paid for the LCDs, lol.

Well I wanted to show this to yal and see what yal think. It is my enclosure for the LCD Module. Just a prototype right now. once I get this one working I will be alot more precise on my measurements and have no off calculations.
