If you are running MBM then you can use the "lancher" feature to start LCDinfo when windows starts, its a bit of a hack, but works well.

Just set it to start at 0c, and use a sensor that does not exist (hence it reads 0c), you can also have it re-start LCDinfo if it dies. Works really well on my Win XP box.
