It isn't possible to directly interface this kind panel to parallel port. You need somekind controller in between. And even then I don't know how useful this big lcd is combined with the limited datathroughput of parallel port.

Also SED1335 for example can't drive this big display but you would need some other controller from the SED series for example. These controllers also are using full address bus interface so it causes some extra work if wanted to use with LPT.

But I'm not saying it wouldn't be possible to use this display. How much experience do you have in electronics ?

I have a similar Sharp display myself that I've been planning to try driving with a selfmade controller.

Since 1990. but I can't work on digital electronic or PC electronic. I'm work only industrial electronic. Now I want to make home made stand alone mp3 player to use PIC 16F877L, VSI1001 Mp3 decoder chip with Graphic LCD. I have 4 different LCD module.

1. LPH7585-2 (have controller) from Siemens gigaset 2000. I don't know how made. No any info
2. come from Siemens gigaset 3000. SAMSUNG made LCD have built in controller but I don't know part number and pin out.
3. HD44780 based 2x16 charecter LCD
4. Sahrp LM64P728 640x480 Mono LCD panel.

I made a info display to my PC. I use HD44780 based 2x16 charecter LCD on PC LPT1 port. But I don't like charecter LCD. I want to use Sharp LCD but, in my country hard to find help how can I use the controller chip and how can I find. if I found right controller chip I will made self made controller.

I'm search any info abut Sahrp LM64P728 640x480 Mono LCD on internet. If I can't find info I buy this LCD : (cheap then the ot thers and paralel interface)

I found a little info about controller;
this company http://www.rtdusa.com/PC104/UM/video/cm110.htm use Chips and Technologies 65545 VGA controller to drive sharp mono LCD

this is datasheet Chips and Technologies 65545 VGA controller(adobe pdf format) http://www.intel.com/design/graphics/mo ... 170002.pdf

Also epson has some controllers that might be more appropriate for a microcontroller:

That is probably a wise solution considering your mp3 project. You don't want to spend too much time and energy for the display alone.
