OK, I give up. Three hours of trying to find a lpt port wiring schematic for this thing is enough. Can any of the schematics posted prev. in the forums be applied to this particular display? It has a T6963C-0101 as per the data sheet with a ccl backlight with male 4 pin molex and 20 pin header in two rows of 10. I know how to solder, don't know jack about LCD's! Thanks for any help.

The pinout seems to mostly match the one here: http://www.skippari.net/lcd/t6963c_schem.html

The exception I saw is INVERT function in pin 20. If you connect it to +5v you get inverted picture and if you connect it to ground you get normal picture.

DMF-50316N also has CCFL backlight and needs CCFL inverter to power it.

Thanks for the information Henri. I'll give it a try using that schematic. I just wonder what color the smoke will be....

For the the Optrex 240x64 you can use any T6963C to LPT wiring scheme, for example this one.
Hook up the CCFL to a modding CCFL Tube inverter and check that, if it's dead then it might be near impossible to find a replacement. Since the diffuser is already in place you could try it with some LEDs.

Your second LCD looks kinda harder to hook up, you'll need datasheet.

That second LCD looks as if it's controllerless and the chip which can be seen may actually be one of the driver chips, perhaps the row driver.
