I have always wanted to build a Micro controlled Alarm clock that has multiple alarms, and can be connected to a computer to program the alarms and time and everything...

I have 4 2inch 7 seg displays specifically for this purpose, but never found the time to get into the project. One day maybe.

Other idea's include, a precision multimeter, precision trip counter for your car, A Bench PSU with 3 digit Voltage and 2 digit Current.. Hmm the list could keep growing.

If you do do the alarm clock, I can help with design specs. You'll just have to do the programming.

It's been far too long since I have played with PIC, and I haven't any experience with MPLAB IDE.. So hopefully someone else will be able to help you there. I just wish I had the time to play...
